Dan Habib, Filmmaker
Dan Habib is the creator of Including Samuel and the new film Who Cares About Kelsey? Habib is the Filmmaker in Residence at the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire.
Habib’s films have been screened at universities, national conferences and independent theatres, and have been used as catalysts for inclusive education across the country and internationally. Including Samuel was broadcast nationwide on public television stations in Fall 2009 and was nominated for an Emmy in 2010. Including Samuel has also been featured on NPR's “All Things Considered” and “Good Morning
America” and won the Positive Images in Media award from TASH, an international group committed to the full inclusion of people with disabilities. The DVD is now available with 17 language translations.
Who Cares About Kelsey? was recently featured in Education Week and has been screened at 10 film festivals, winning “Best Feature Film” at the Lights. Camera. Help. Film Festival. The film is being broadcast nationwide on public television stations in Fall 2013.
Before joining UNH in April of 2008, Habib was the photography editor of the Concord (NH) Monitor. In 2006 and 2008, he was named the national Photography Editor of the Year and he has been a judge of the Pulitzer Prizes and the Best of Photojournalism. He is a six-time New Hampshire photographer of the year and his freelance work has appeared in Time, Newsweek and the New York Times. In 2012, Habib received the Champion of Human and Civil Rights Award from the National Education Association, and in 2013 he received the Justice for All Grassroots Award from the American Association of People with Disabilities.
Habib and his wife, Betsy, live in Concord, New Hampshire, with their sons Isaiah, 17, and Samuel, 13.

Leslie Wood, Clarity Child Guidance Center
Leslie Wood is a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents in the field of mental health. Ms. Wood is currently a clinician with Clarity Child Guidance Center at the Westover Hills Urgent Clinic for both the partial hospitalization as well as outpatient program. She claims experience in all levels of care including residential, inpatient/acute, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient therapy/counseling. Leslie is an experienced educator in both graduate and undergraduate courses in social work and family studies programs. She has a MSW from Our Lady of the Lake University (1998), and BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University (1994).
Christine C. Smith, LPC
Christine Smith has a Master’s degree in counseling psychology and has been practicing in her field for the past 19 years. Her professional
experience includes multiple mental health venues: mediation, treatment foster care, crisis and critical debriefing, supervising other mental
health practitioners, school based counseling and private practice. Christine has 12 years’ experience in school based counseling assisting
students, parents, teachers and administration to resolve educational and mental health barriers. This approach has increased family participation,
academic goal setting and student success.
In recent years, Christine’s private practice has focused on divorce, co-parenting, and blended-family success while continuing to provide care for children, adults and families with various mental health diagnosis. In 2007 Christine and her business partner founded Solid Roots Counseling, LLC in Lewiston, Maine; a successful multi-facet practice treating children, adults and families with mental health diagnosis. This facility also provides a
setting for other mental health probationers to establish themselves in the community. In September 2013, Christine and her family relocated
to San Antonio, Texas where she is currently in the process of establishing a private practice.
